Ohmibob

Ok, here's to trying harder to blog more frequently. It's getting warm here now, it's been in the 90's and gas prices are SOARING. This has been such a difficult time at work I just don't know what to do with myself! Seems like I rarely have time for myself but I found time today and surfed the net and found a talk radio show that happens to feature Real Bob. Real Bob is the muse for the artistic marvel that is Cardboard Bob.

This is the mediocre Cubs pitcher that my sister, Lori and I made a cardboard cut out of and ended up having a rather odd relationship with. So not only am I listening to his broadcase but found this rather hilarious picture:

Happy Easter

I cannae believe it is Easter already. Where does the time go?

Last week Sunday I came down with a fierce virus that had various parts of me operating independently and violently. I was overwhelmed by it and it took me out for the better part of three days. I had a temp of 102 at the highest point. My stomach hasn't been the same since. I've only eaten chicken and rice up until yesterday when I had a tiny bit of lasagne florentine.

In some ways I wish blogs weren't so public or that you could guarantee your anonymity. I've got so many things going on at work but you just can't blog things like that. It's not right.

Perhaps soon I can blog again.

oh and about that patch..

As a post script to a previous post, I went back to Kennedy Space Center 2 weeks ago and found the patch but found something even better - it was a lapel pin of the mission. So I got that instead - it's a bit more discreet.

We also went to Bunky's for dinner and had the most outrageously fantastic Key Lime Pie ever.
SO freaking good. And I don't even like Key Lime Pie!!

On This Day Wiki

I saw this on a couple other blogs. You 'wiki' your birth day and see what things of note happened on your day of birth. Here are mine:

November 11:

1834 - Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling was first published.
1864 - American Civil War: Sherman's March to the Sea - Union General William Tecumseh Sherman begins burning Atlanta, Georgia to the ground in preparation for his march south.
1918 - World War I ends: Germany signs an armistice agreement with the Allies in a railroad car outside of Compiègne in France. The war officially stops at 11:00.
1966 - NASA launches spaceship Gemini 12.

Agh, this isn't really Wiki. It's BBC On This Day.

Whatever, it's still interesting.

Long Time Gone

I have excuses for not blogging but the summary version is: I'm very tired.

The second reason is, most of the things that are consuming me could get my fired if I blogged about them and were caught. So, I shan't. But suffice to say, it's been a very difficult time - mergers, lay offs, firings, scope creep and all the rest of it.

Even the most inspiring event could not lead me back to the computer this week, which was the Strangest Thing Ever Seen On I-4:

A leather la-z-boy variety recliner sitting in the middle lane. It looked to be in fairly reasonable condition. For being in a traffic lane of a major interestate.

I've been working faithfully (as in three days off and on) on my Satellite Beach 1984 playlist. I call it my "Ode to Vintage BJ105" and it's coming together nicely. Thanks be to iTunes, it's got all - in fact I'm dowloading Van Halen's "Panama" and "Hot For Teacher" as we speak. I'm almost ashamed to have my credit card associated with it.

I don't recall either if I blogged that I sold my car, but I did. Not the new one, the old one. I still am sad when I see one exactly like it out on the road. It was a good little car and it still is. Sigh.

And finally, I succesfully made doughnuts. For whatever that's worth.
